Organizers seeking help picking a new logo, theme for Simi Valley Days The 24th annual Simi Valley Days from Sept. 10 through 14 will have a new location this year at Rancho Simi Community Park. "We are excited about this change in location. This venue allows for additional and bigger carnival rides, and best of all there will not be any dust," said Zane Widdes, president of The Simi Valley Days Foundation. Sponsorship opportunities are available at various levels. Applications are being accepted for vendors for the Merchant's Pavilion and the annual Simi Valley Days Parade. Volunteers are also needed for both the festivities and the parade on Saturday, Sept. 13. Simi Valley Days is seeking a new logo and theme. Residents may submit their theme ideas and logo graphic designs by e-mail to simivalleydays04@aol.com or by mail to Simi Valley Days, PO Box 164, Simi Valley, CA 93062. Applicants should include name, address and telephone number with each entry. This year's event will include returning favorites such as KowChip Bingo, the Merchant's Pavilion, giant roller coaster, the super big Ferris wheel, and live entertainment by local and regional bands. Simi Valley Days has been a community tradition since 1985 and proceeds from the event are donated to various charities. For more information, call the SVD hotline at (805) 584-4280, or visit www.simivalleydays.org, or e-mail simivalleydays04 @aol.com. |
