Free Clinic selects its next board president

Harry VanDyck, a certified public accountant and Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce's 2007 Business Person of the Year, has been selected to serve as president of the board of directors for the Free Clinic of Simi Valley.
VanDyck has owned and operated Century Accounting & Tax Solutions for 13 years, servicing accounting, payroll and tax needs of small businesses and individuals in the Simi Valley area.
Prior to opening his office, VanDyck was a finance industry chief financial officer and a controller in the restaurant and real estate development industries. He also served as an Air Force pilot.
"Harry VanDyck has a long history of community involvement, and has proved to be an invaluable resource for the Free Clinic of Simi Valley," said Fred Bauermeister, the clinic's executive director. "We are blessed to have his time, talent and leadership during an exciting time for the Free Clinic."
VanDyck's community involvement includes serving on the governing boards for the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce, Simi Valley Community Foundation, Simi Valley Education Foundation, and the Kiwanis Club of Santa Susana. He served as the president or chairperson of each organization.
He also served as chair of Simi Valley Neighborhood Council No. 4, and on the Ventura County Low Wage Advisory Committee. Currently he serves on the Simi Valley Gang Task Force and the Simi Valley General Plan Advisory Committee. He is an active member of the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise.
He received the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce Chairman's Award in 2000 and 2003.
VanDyck has served the Free Clinic Board since 2002 and previously served as its treasurer.
The Free Clinic of Simi Valley, a nonprofit, volunteerbased community service organization, provides medical services to individuals and families, regardless of their ability to pay.
