Discovery Day returns

The Moorpark College Child Development Center will host its semiannual fundraiser, Discovery Day, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12 on the patios and grounds of the center on the campus at 7075 Campus Road, Moorpark.

Discovery Day offers educational activities for parents and their children between the ages of 18 months and 10 years.

Children can "mine for gold" in the sandbox, experiment with ice and doughs, make boats and participate in water play.

Other events include a silent auction, entertainment by The Sunshine Band from noon to 1 p.m. and a visit by toymaker Gene West.

Presale tickets available from the center are $5 per child and $3 per adult. Cost at the door is $6 per child and $4 per adult.
