4-H hosting nature photography contest The Ventura County 4H Program and the Ventura County Fair will conduct their "Kids, Cameras and Crops" photography contest Saturday, April 26 at the Hansen Agricultural Center. The contest is open to all county youth ages 9 to 18. It will begin with a presentation by Master Gardeners about photographing nature. The Master Gardeners will be available to mentor children who will take photos at the farm following the presentation and to talk about the different forms of plant life growing on the farm. The contest is part of the 4-H Agricultural and Natural Resources Literacy and Journalism program. It was created to encourage youth to look at the agriculturally rich county in a creative way. Participants' photography will be on display at the Ventura County Fair. Space is limited and reservations must be made by Wednesday, April 23.
