Resident convicted of filing forged documents Simi Valley resident Aubulghasem Ahmadpour, 58, was recently convicted of seven felony counts of filing forged instruments, and passing forged instruments with intent to defraud. The evidence presented during the trial revealed that Ahmadpour became involved in a series of business disputes with three different sets of victims. Ahmadpour was charged with recording and filing false and forged documents with the Ventura County Clerk and Recorder's Office and the Ventura County Superior Court. He was also charged with passing forged documents with the intent to defraud. During the time period that Ahmadpour was attempting to refinance his residence, he also passed forged documents to an escrow company in his ongoing effort to clear outstanding liens against the residence. Ahmadpour remains in custody without bail. His sentencing hearing is set for April 14. Ahmadpour faces a maximum sentence of seven years in state prison. |
