New hospital CEO is a blast from the past
Remboldt, who served as CEO for the hospital from 1984 to 1989, will leave his position as vice president of Clinic Services with Adventist Health- the faithbased health system comprising 18 hospitals throughout California, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington. Scott Reiner, senior vice president of Adventist Health and board chair of the hospital, announced Remboldt's return last week, along with the appointment of John Beaman as CFO of the facility, effective April 14. "I am pleased that both Darwin and John have accepted these leadership roles at SVH," Reiner said in an official statement. "I'm confident that both (John) and Darwin will bring new energy and expertise to the hospital and its community." Remboldt's appointment follows the March 8 resignation of Gary Irish, hospital president and CEO since September 2005. Hospital spokesperson Alicia Gonzales said the resignation was a "mutual decision" between Irish and the board of directors. The hospital this week refused to disclose additional details about Irish's departure. Remboldt's additional experience includes serving as CEO of Central Valley General Hospital and Hanford Community Medical Center in Central California. He also held leadership roles and served as president of Family Medical Associates Inc. and Granada Medical Group. "His past leadership at the facility combined with his commitment in the community makes him an ideal leader to propel the hospital into the future and oversee the development of a renovated medical campus including the opening of the hospital's new patient tower (in May)," the statement read. Beaman, currently the CFO of Littleton Adventist Hospital in Colorado, has served with Adventist Health in the past as CFO for San Joaquin Community Hospital in the city of Bakersfield.
