Residents give up greenbacks at Ed Foundation grand gala

The breathtaking Air Force One Pavilion at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library was the backdrop once again for the Simi Valley Education Foundation annual Gala Dinner, Dance and Auction held Saturday evening. 2. Hundreds of residents enjoy their meals- and each other's company- at the beginning of the night. 3. Foundation president Allan Mann takes a seat on a Regatta one-piece toilet donated by Vic's Plumbing Supply while he places a bid on the item during the silent auction. 4. Simi Valley High School teacher Joe Granish bids on a trip to the Magic Castle in Hollywood. 5. Live auction auctioneer Jim Glines works for bids, trying to get attendees to open their pocket books for education. Proceeds go to the foundation, which last year donated more than $72,000 in enchancement grants to teachers, departments and entire schools to purchases supplies, science materials, books and software.
