Students get to step with the best

The Santa Susana High School Performing Arts and Technology Magnet dance team met and danced with some of the country's premier choreographers at "The Pulse" convention Feb. 22 to 24 at the Doubletree Hotel in Sacramento.

The convention was hosted by New York's Broadway Dance Center and featured choreographers from the television show "So You Think You Can Dance?"

Students had the opportunity to take master dance classes, perform for special critique sessions and audition for scholarships.

The dance team attended classes in street funk, hip-hop, jazz and more.

The students also participated in questionandanswer and autograph sessions with Emmywinning choreographer Mia Michaels, as well as Brian Friedman, Shane Sparks, Chris Judd and Dave Scott.
