Youth league will throw first pitch tomorrow

The Simi Valley Baseball League will host Opening Day ceremonies at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, March 8, at the league complex on Royal Avenue between Sequoia Avenue and Tapo Canyon Road in Simi Valley.

City and park dignitaries will be present to celebrate the 30th anniversary of youth baseball in the city. Special guest is former major league baseball player Jay Johnstone.

More than 540 youths and families will be present.

Tickets are $1 each for the raffle. Food and game booths will also be available.

The Home Run Derby for children and adults will take place on the senior field starting at 10 am.
