Military plane will bear the Simi name

BILL SPARKES/Acorn Newspapers SIMI VALLEY CJ130- The 146th Airlift Wing of the California Air National Guard hosted an official aircraft dedication ceremony last Saturday, dedicating each of its new Jmodel C130s to individual cities in Ventura County. The name of each city is proudly displayed above the crew entrance of the door of the aircraft. The ceremony took place at the Channel Islands ANG Station adjacent to Point Mugu Naval Air Station. Participating were, from left, U.S. Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Thousand Oaks), Col. Marilyn Rios, Simi Valley Mayor Paul Miller, Maj. Gen. William H. Wade and Maj. Gen. Dennis G. Lucas.
