Stabbing suspect arrested after victim found at ER

Jeffrey Jansen, 47, of Simi Valley, was arrested as a suspect in a stabbing incident that took place at 6:13 p.m. Feb. 29 in the 2600 block of Lee Street in Simi Valley.

According to police reports, when officers arrived at the scene, both the victim and suspect had left.

The police department was notified that the victim was at the Simi Valley Hospital Emergency Room with stab wounds to the shoulder and chest, and a minor cut to the neck.

The suspect had allegedly stabbed the victim with a knife during an argument.

Witnesses at the scene identified the suspect as Jansen, who was cooperative during the investigation and was taken into custody without incident.

The victim's injuries were not life threatening and he is expected to live.

Jansen has since been released on bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court today, March 7.
