VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Residents are invited to participate in any of the following volunteer opportunities in the area. For more information or to sign up, call the phone number listed for the event. •The Conejo Free Clinic is a nonprofit organization providing health and legal services to those who may have no other access to such care. The clinic is at 80 E. Hillcrest Drive, Ste. 102, Thousand Oaks. Volunteer positions are available for healthcare providers, nurses, patient advocates, case managers, medical and legal receptionists, office support, attorneys and paralegals. The medical clinic has daytime and evening hours available. The legal clinic is open the first through fourth Tuesday evening of each month. Volunteers are needed to help groom and tack horses, walk beside riders, lead horses and perform general barn and ranch maintenance duties. Ranches are located in Chatsworth and Thousand Oaks. Anyone age 14 or older can volunteer, and no experience is necessary with either horses or disabilities- training is provided. After 30 hours of service, Ride On offers a series of horseback riding lessons and continuing education in horse care, stable management and disability awareness.
