Workshop offers help on managing finances

Jan Meek, Meg Volk and Faye Miran will present a workshop titled "Take Control of Your Finances" from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Santa Susana Community Center, Recreation Room A, 5005 Los Angeles Ave., Simi Valley.

Participants may learn how to balance a family budget, stretch paychecks, learn how to save, secure the future and save for a child's college fund.

Resident named VP of strategic development

Listen Technologies Corporation has announced the appointment of Simi Valley resident Tim Schaeffer as vice president of strategic development.

In his new position, Schaeffer will be in charge of Listen's product road map and will research, develop and plan the implementation of new business opportunities.

Schaeffer has more than 30 years of sales and marketing management experience within the professional audio industry. Early in his career he worked in the system design and installation business.

Schaeffer spent many years as a sales representative to the recording studio markets, music industry and sound contracting markets in southern California.
