Local grads succeeding

•Christopher Edward Delaplane of Simi Valley has been admitted to practice law in the state of California. He is a graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu.

Nearly 200 Pepperdine graduates gathered recently at the university, where they were sworn in by Bruce J. Einhorn, a retired federal immigration judge for Los Angeles.

• Rebecca Heteniak of Simi Valley has been named to the dean's list for the 2007 fall quarter at DePaul University.

To receive this commendation, full-time students must earn a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or above on a four-point scale.
