Fundamental schools accepting apps

The two fundamental schools for the Simi Valley Unified School District will take applications for children entering kindergarten for the 2008-2009 school year from today through Feb. 14.

Students will be selected for enrollment by lottery from the applications received by the 4 p.m. deadline on Feb. 14.

Parents may participate in only one lottery.

Application forms may be obtained directly from the schools starting Feb. 1: • Hollow Hills Fundamental School, 828 Gibson Ave., (805) 520-6720 • Vista Fundamental School, 2175 Wisteria St., 520-6750.

An information meeting for applicants of both schools is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 in the multipurpose room at Vista school.

This meeting is for adults only and childcare is not provided.

The agenda will cover key information for parents to make a decision regarding placement of their child.

Children must be five years old on or before Dec. 2 to be eligible for kindergarten in the fall.

A birth certificate, immunization record, physical examination and an oral health assessment are required for registration.
