Learn about owning a race horse

Thoroughbred Owners of California will host a free seminar titled "Ownership 101- An Introduction to Racehorse Ownership" from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Top o' the Stretch, Clockers' Corner, Santa Anita Racetrack, 285 W. Huntington Drive in Arcadia.

The seminar will feature presentations by leading owners on the ins and outs of racehorse ownership, including acquiring a thoroughbred, initial investment and operating costs, and the role of the trainer.

Attendees will have the chance to visit the barn area, where they will get an upclose look at a training operation and a chance to ask questions. The barn tours will be led by California trainers.
