Astronomical society discusses studying the sky

The Ventura County Astronomical Society will hold its monthly membership meeting at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15 in the multipurpose room at Mesa Union School, 3901 Mesa School Road in Somis.

The evening's subject will be "The Sky Can Be Your Laboratory," with speaker Robert Buchheim.

Buchheim is a longtime member of the Orange County Astronomers and has been a trustee and corporate secretary of the OCA for several years.

He has published a few sketches in Deep Sky magazine and presented papers at the Riverside Telescope Makers Conference.

The meeting is open to the public.
