Armed robbers hold up two Simi markets Two armed robberies took place in Simi Valley in the past week. Police do not believe the robberies are connected. •An unknown person entered the Knolls Market at 1415 Kuehner Drive in Simi Valley at 12:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18 and pointed a largecaliber black automatic-style pistol at the clerk. The robber demanded money, and the clerk gave him the cash that was in the register. The robber left on foot and was last seen getting into a green vehicle. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a male about 27 to 35 years old, wearing faded blue jeans, black shoes, a black T-shirt and a charcoal-colored sweater. The suspect had a shaved head and was wearing dark sunglasses. •A lone male adult entered the Township market at 4371 Township Ave. at 5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 20 and displayed a pistol and robbed the clerk of an undisclosed amount of cash. No shots were fired, and there were no injuries. The suspect fled on foot. The suspect was described as a white male, about 24 years old, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 165 pounds, with short blond hair and multiple tattoos. The investigation is continuing.
