Simi students take home honors at annual Reflections program awards ceremony

Photos by WENDY PIERRO Acorn Newspapers REFLECTIONS OF TALENT- Royal High School junior Tamara McCarty, 16, above, and Lana Marie Alicata, 16, right, a junior at Simi Valley High, were among the Ventura County students who won awards at the National PTA Reflections program gallery exhibit reception and awards celebration Tuesday night at the Ventura County Office of Education in Camarillo. This year's theme was "I Can Make a Difference By . . ." Twenty-four students were given the award of excellence for their work and will go on to compete at the national level. McCarty won an award for dance choreography and Alicata won for music composition.
