Tall ships to sail into Oxnard

The tall ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain will come to Channel Islands Harbor at noon Wednesday, Jan. 23., docking in a berth at 3900 Pelican Way in Oxnard.
During the ships' nine-day stay, crew members will offer dockside tours, public sailings and educational programs for area elementary school students.
The tours will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Jan. 23; 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Jan. 24 and 25; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26; and 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 29 and 30. A donation of $3 per person is suggested.
Tickets can be reserved for public sailings, including a family friendly Adventure Sail on Sunday, Jan. 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets for Adventure Sails are $55 for adults; $45 for seniors, students and active military; and $35 for children under 12.
Battle Sails, featuring mock sea battles between the two ships, are scheduled for 2 to 5 p.m. Jan. 26 and 27.
Tickets for Battle Sails are $60 for adults; $50 for seniors, students and active military; and $40 for children under 12.
