At-large positions open on city's tree advisory board

The city of Simi Valley is now accepting applications to fill three public at-large Tree Advisory Board Member positions.

All applicants must be residents of Simi Valley. Successful candidates will serve until March 2010.

Board members serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council on citywide tree matters pertaining to the planting, pruning, health and care of trees in the urban environment.

The board also promotes the annual Tree City USA Arbor Day program and the National Arbor Day Poster Contest Program.

Board meetings are typically held at 5:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month.

The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, Feb. 1 at 4:30 p.m.
