Habitat for Humanity searching out its next crop of volunteers

      Several months after a September groundbreaking ceremony for Habitat for Humanity in Simi Valley, construction on three homes is about to start. Around 40 volunteers will begin work Saturday on the parcel of land at the intersection of Royal and Sequoia avenues.

Upcoming meeting of the Simi Jazz Club
      The Simi Valley Jazz Club will meet Sunday, Jan. 13 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Simi Valley Senior Center located at 3900 Avenida Simi. Participants may listen and dance to the music of the '20s to '50s. There are open jam sessions for musicians.
