Shame on you. I found your editorial and editorial cartoon in the Dec. 5 issue appalling.

We are all aware of a dismal financial backdrop. However, I do not agree with your position that any police officer should feel guilty about accepting the raise.

These officers put their life on the line each and every day and are to be applauded for providing a safe and secure community like Simi Valley for us to enjoy.

I am 82 years of age and this is the first opinion letter I have ever written, being driven by disgust.
