Foundation names this year's Lew Roth winners
The Simi Valley Education Foundation will honor the Lew Roth Award recipients of 2008 at the annual dinner at 6 p.m. Fri., Feb. 6 at the Grand Vista Hotel in Simi Valley.
The foundation was formed in 1989 by Lew Roth, a Simi Valley school board trustee for 23 years.
The award will recognize individuals in six categories for extraordinary service to the students of the Simi Valley Unified School District.
The recipients for this year's award are: Management, Sharon Dawson of Royal High School; Certificated, Mitch Schuster of Valley View Middle School; Classified, Jorge and Cecilia Curiel of Justin Elementary School; Volunteer, Debbie Goodnough of Wood Ranch Elementary School; Special Education, Vickie Garrison of Simi Elementary School; and Lifetime Achievement, Joy Barkyoumb of Park View Elementary
The evening is designed for the recipients to celebrate with parents, teachers, administrators and community members. The public is invited.
