McCain campaign staff member recalls election with AP government class

      Royal High School graduate Owen Paun spent more than a year as a campaign staff member for presidential candidate Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona). Last Friday, the 28-year-old Paun visited teacher Brian Dennert's AP government class at his alma mater to share his experiences working and volunteering for the senator since September 2007.

County community foundation will provide $1 million in scholarships
      The Ventura County Community Foundation is accepting applications for scholarships to be awarded to Ventura County students in 2009. The deadline to submit applications 5 p.m. Fri., Jan. 16. Scholarships are available to students studying agriculture, arts, business, education or teaching, engineering, math and sciences, and health-related majors.
