Tackle hunger: Fish for fun to feed Ventura County families

Catch will be donated to Food Share

The Ventura County Sport Fisherman's Club and Jeff Grodin, owner of Capt. Hooks Sportfishing in Ventura, will host an event to support FOOD Share food bank.

Up to 226 fishermen, women and children will board eight vessels belonging to the Capt. Hooks Sportfishing fleet and fish to help feed the hungry in Ventura County on Mon., Dec. 8.

Boats will disembark from Channel Islands Harbor at 5:30 a.m. and return at 4 p.m. the same day.

The cost is $25 per person to cover fuel and crew. All fish caught by anglers during the event will be donated to FOOD Share to feed local families in need.
