Simi Valley Town Center recently announced the addition of toy retailer FAO Schwarz to its Macy's department store, the only FAO Schwarz department between Ventura and Northridge.

FAO Schwarz designs its own toys, which are environmentally friendly. The toys are made from all-organic materials, safe paints, replenishable wood (harvested from sustainable forest resources as opposed to oldgrowth forests), and materials that do not scuff home flooring. Simi Valley's FAO Schwarz has about 250 square feet and continues adding items.

Additionally, the shopping center announces the opening of four new stores: Hickory Farms, Calendar Club, Pro Signatures Memorabilia, Adler Leather, Renaissance Antiques and Elegant Creations.

•Hickory Farms is a nationwide retailer of gift boxes and baskets, with hand-cut cheeses, sausages and more.

•Calendar Club is a seasonal specialty store that markets a large variety of calendars, games, puzzles, gifts, and music boxes.

•Pro Signatures Memorabilia, started in Ventura County by two Simi Valley High School graduates, sells sports memorabilia authenticated by various companies such as Steiner, Mounted Memories, and TriStar.

•Elegant Creations sells holiday decor and personalized ornaments, stockings and decor related items.

•Adler Leather is a quality leather store with jackets for men and women, and small leather goods and accessories.

•Renaissance Antiques presents collectible and decorative items such as porcelain dishes and dolls.
