Chabad collects canned goods to celebrate Hanukkah
      Chabad of Simi Valley, in partnership with Chabad of Moorpark, will host the "Lights for Life" project to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. A "can-orah" will be constructed from cans of donated food and then lit at 4:30 p.m. Mon., Dec. 22, the second night of Hanukkah, at the Simi Valley Town Center near the koi pond.

Simi Prez hosts community Christmas shop tomorrow
      ACTION Foundation will sponsor its fifth annual Community Christmas Shoppe benefiting Ventura County families. The shop will be at Simi Presbyterian, 4832 Cochran St., on Sat., Dec. 6 and at Dove Ministries in Oxnard, 241 Hill St., and Newbury Park First Christian Church, 801 Knollwood Drive, on Sat., Dec. 13.
