Teen thieves charged with stealing iPod from vehicle
Three Simi Valley residents were arrested last week in connection with the theft of a camera and an iPod from a vehicle.
The Simi Valley Police Department reported that it received a call about a theft from a vehicle at about 11 p.m. on Nov. 19.
Shane Linenberger, 25, who lives in the 2100 block of Fenwood St., reported that he heard his car horn sound and looked outside to see a juvenile dressed in dark clothing standing beside the open driver's side door of his vehicle.
The teen ran away, and Linenberger saw him meeting with a second juvenile.
They ran away with property taken from the vehicle, Linenberger said.
Officers detained three teens who matched the description given by other witnesses.
Police say a 16-year-old male had the victim's camera and iPod, valued at about $600.
He was arrested and charged with grand theft and possession of stolen property.
A 15yearold male was arrested and charged with acting as a lookout during the crime.
Jory Jackson, 18, was also arrested and charged with acting as a lookout during the theft.
Police say they also recovered additional stolen property from the suspects.
The property, which had been taken from at least four other unlocked vehicles in the immediate area, was returned to the owners.
