County hires CERT coordinator
The Ventura County Fire Department announced recently that Ramona Armijo has joined the department to serve as the countywide coordinator for its Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training program.
Armijo will be responsible for curriculum oversight to train volunteers in disaster readiness, establishing a strategic plan to assure that Ventura County communities will be prepared in the event of a disaster, and obtaining grant funding and donations to support program expansion.
Armijo has a doctorate in education and knowledge management and a master's degree in public health.
She comes to the department from the Ventura County Public Health Agency, where she was responsible for strategic planning, training and oversight of committees.
