Fundraiser helps buy show tickets for those who can't afford them

The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Share the ARTS Program will benefit from a holiday gift and craft bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., Nov. 22 in front of the arts center and in the lower level multipurpose room at 3050 Los Angeles Ave., Simi Valley.

Vendors will offer a variety of items for sale, many of which are handcrafted, including jewelry, hand-crocheted scarves and hats, line art drawings, paintings, ceramics, purses and handcrafted flower and streamer crowns for children.

Holiday gift items for sale include nativity sets, Christmas quilts, gifts for equestrians and gardeners, embellished clothing items, decorated holiday wreaths and handcrafted ornaments.

The Cultural Arts Center Foundation's "Celebrity Cookbook" and items such as hats and shirts with the arts center logo will be available.

The Share the ARTS Program will receive a percentage of sales from all vendors in addition to the booth rental fees. The funds will help provide tickets to individuals who otherwise could not afford to attend live theater.

Volunteer ushers from the arts center will sell lunches and baked goods and oversee hourly door prize drawings. For more information, call (805) 583-7905.
