Organizers want to build 'House of Hope'
A fundraiser to create Our Community House of Hope will be at 7 p.m. today, Nov. 14, at the North Ranch Center, 1400 N. Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village.
The event will have dinner, live music, silent auction and designs for the House of Hope from Cal State Northridge interior design students.
The cost is $75 per person or $125 couples.
The House of Hope is a proposed new residential care home for terminally ill patients in the last three months of life.
The projected eight-bed house will provide care to patients and families in the Conejo Valley, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Camarillo, Calabasas and Malibu.
The shortterm goal of the organization is to raise $250,000 by the middle of next year to secure, staff and operate a rental home, while raising funds toward the purchase of a permanent location.
