Simi NarAnon to meet tomorrow

The Simi Nar-Anon Family Group, a support group for families and friends of drug addicts, will meet at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 15, in Room 10 at the Simi Valley United Methodist Church, 2394 Erringer Road. Reservations are not needed.

Guest speaker Linda Gertson, PhD, will discuss how to help addicts who also suffer from mental illness. Available resources and how addiction and mental illness interact will also be covered.

Gertson is a clinical psychologist and the behavior health manager for Ventura County Behavior Health. She developed and implemented the VCBH's Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment Program, which won the 2007 Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Science and Service Award for outstanding implementation of a co-occurring disorders treatment program.
