Residents needed to provide bond oversight
The Simi Valley Unified School District Board of Education is seeking volunteers to serve on the Bond Oversight Committee that will review bond expenditures.
The community passed a general obligation bond on March 2, 2004, which raises $145 million for the repair and upgrade of school facilities.
The committee will include people who are active in a business organization, senior citizen organization and taxpayer organization. The committee must also include parents of Simi Valley students, one of whom is active in the PTA or school site council.
The appointees will replace committee members whose terms have expired and will serve twoyear terms, without compensation and for no more than two consecutive terms.
The application deadline is Dec. 1.
To receive an application, call the business office at (805) 3064510 or download a form from www.simi.k12.ca.us.
