Simi Valley street named in honor of veterans
A city driveway received special treatment last week when the Simi Valley City Council decided to name it in honor of those who have served their country in the armed forces.
The driveway of the city's Development Services Building, the DMV and the East County Courthouse will be designated Veterans Plaza Parkway.
Located north of Alamo Street, the previously unnamed driveway is directly opposite Santa Lucia Street and serves as the second vehicle entrance to Veterans Plaza in Rancho Tapo Community Park.
The plaza is on the eastern edge of the park and is adjacent to the parking areas for the DSB, DMV and courthouse.
Three months ago the City Council designated the police department driveway as Officer Michael Clark Memorial Parkway—previously known as Civic Center Way—in remembrance of the Simi Valley Police Department's only fallen officer.
