      Michael Cooper has a unique perspective on the Royal-Simi Valley football rivalry. Cooper lives on the Simi Valley side of town—yet he has spent the past four years wreaking havoc on the football field for Royal as a tight end and defensive end.

High school playoffs in full swing

RHS beat Dana Hills and played at Santa Margarita Thursday night. Other teams involved in postseason play Thursday included Grace Brethren volleyball, Royal boys' water polo and Simi Valley girls' tennis.

RHS golf squad finishes ninth at team divisional
     JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers STARE IT DOWN—Royal High's Maile Kim plays an iron during Monday's CIF-Southern Section Girls Golf Northern Divisional at River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard. RHS finished with a team score of 479, good for ninth place. "We have all of our girls coming back next year except for Jenna Fisher," Royal head coach Bob Misko said, "so the future looks bright."
