Marines, both active duty and retired, are invited to celebrate the Marine Corps 233rd Birthday at 7 p.m. Mon., Nov. 10 at TGI Friday's, 2795 Tapo Canyon Road, Simi Valley.

Organized by local Marines Albert Carnahan and Nick Chacon, the event is free and will be attended by the Marine Corps League Detachment 597 of Ventura County.

The older Marines will conduct the traditional cake-cutting.
