Hospital named Chamber's 'Business of the Year'
      Simi Valley Hospital has been selected as the 2008 Business of the Year by the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce and will be honored at a luncheon scheduled for January. The award distinction follows the grand opening of the hospital's Patient Care Tower with a celebration event that attracted more than 1,000 residents.

New flock of nurses enter the work force
Simi resident one of 16 to complete training
      Sixteen nursing students completed 185 hours of nurse's training at Professional Medical Careers Institute and received their CAN pins on Oct. 17 at the Goebel Center in Thousand Oaks. All of the students obtained their clinical experience at Mary Health of the Sick in Newbury Park and Westlake Health Care Center.

      Simi Valley Hospital and Ventura County Public Health will offer free flu shots from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., Nov. 15 in the hospital's new Patient Care Tower, 2975 N. Sycamore Drive in Simi Valley. Vaccine will be provided on a first come, first serve basis.
