The December Black Belt Team from Jason Flame's Tang Soo Do University has been participating in a variety of community service projects.

In October the team conducted a Halloween Costume Drive to collect costumes that will be donated to Moorpark's Catholic Charities.

The team has gathered more than 200 costumes that will be given to children in need in the Moorpark and Simi Valley area.

The martial artists will also take part in a graffiti cleanup day in association with the Boy Scouts.

The school will host the second annual Kick-athon in November.

Funds raised through this event will be used to make more than 100 Thanksgiving baskets for families in need.

The team comprises 22 students from Moorpark and Simi Valley, ranging in age from 8 to over 40, who will achieve black belt ranks on Dec. 13 from the school.
