Active Adult Programs
The Simi Valley Senior Center will offer the following programs at the center, 3900 Avenida Simi. For more information on events, call the recreation coordinators, Sue, Karen or Stan, at (805) 583-6059.
•The MyersBriggs Type Indicator is a tool to help individuals learn their personality type, what it means and how to use this knowledge.
The class meets for seven Fridays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 31 through Dec. 19 with no class on Nov. 28. Class fee is $4.
•A class on porcelain painting will be from 9 a.m. to noon for seven Fridays, Oct. 31 to Dec. 19.
China pieces may be purchased at the first class. The finished product is a piece of artwork suitable for home display. The fee is $24.
•A free class on dementia and Alzheimer's will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tues., Nov. 4.
Participants will learn how to take care of themselves and how to maintain their brains. The program was developed by the Alzheimer's Association and will cover brain, physical and mental health.
•Tea time class will teach tea etiquette, the history of tea, different kinds of tea and how to brew them. The class will be on three Wednesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Nov. 5 through 19.
The fee is $20. A $7 lab fee is due at the first class. Participants should bring their own teacup to each class.
•Papercrafting with Shelah will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sat., Nov. 15. The class will make a flip book. The cost is a $20 lab fee and $5 registration fee.

•The Grandparent and Me "crafts for fall" class will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Sat., Nov. 15. The fee is $5.
