Kudos to the Golden Arches for helping volunteers

The Ventura County American Red Cross would like to extend a much-deserved thank-you to the management of the McDonald's restaurant at 1495 Los Angeles Ave. in Simi Valley.
When we went over there to buy breakfast for the staff of volunteers manning the shelter for fire victims at Sinaloa Elementary School, not only did they fill our coffee basin and offer ice water and cups for the shelter, they also donated more than $80 worth of breakfast meals for the volunteers.
It is actions like this that prove Simi Valley is a community, and McDonald's a business, that are there for others in a time of need.
