Riding lessons offered

2008-10-17 / Pets

Goodenough Farms Horse Spa offers riding lessons for children from 3 to 5 p.m. at Castle Rock Ranch, Tierra Rejada and Highway 23, Moorpark.

Carpools will pick up students from school. Children may receive help with their homework while they wait for their parents after the lessons.

Children age 10 and up should wear long pants, have a boot or shoe with a heel and wear a helmet, which is required of all riders.

Lessons are available in Western and English riding.

After the introductory lesson, parents, children and the horse trainer can discuss lesson plans, car pool pickup options and desired riding style.

The first lesson is free. Lesson plans, including two afterschool lessons or an after-school and a Saturday lesson, are available for $100 per week and up, including lease of a horse.

Some health plans offer reimbursement for youths who qualify. Participants should check with their health insurance plan.

To arrange an introductory lesson, call Lisa Hall at (818) 917-4586 or John Lockhart at (805) 524-2444 or e-mail info@goodenoughfarms.com.
