Discover roots at genealogical society class
The Ventura County Genealogical Society will hold its annual seminar from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., Oct. 18 at the LDS Family History Center, 3501 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
The seminar will include handouts, a syllabus, exhibits, new and used genealogy books for sale, two refreshment breaks and a noontime lunch.
Henry "Hank" Jones will be the guest speaker.
Subjects covered will be "When the Sources are Wrong," "Tracing the Origins of Early 18th Century Palatine and Other Emigrants," "Family Tradition: How to Separate Fact from Fantasy in Genealogical Research" and "Genealogy in the new Millennium: Where We've Been and Where We're Going."
Registration is $35 for VCGS members and $40 for nonmembers. Fees include lunch and seminar materials.
