Residents throw their support behind Miller
When people ask me where I live, I say, with a great deal of pride, "Simi Valley, California." Thanks to the leadership of Paul Miller, our mayor for the past 12 years, Simi Valley is a terrific community.
The streets are clean, the laws are enforced, and the bills are paid. I feel safe here.
In these times of financial instability at all levels of government and the general economy, I feel comforted with a fiscally responsible person in charge of Simi Valley's finances. Fiscal leadership has been a hallmark of Paul Miller's tenure as mayor of Simi Valley.
I hope you will join me in voting for Paul Miller for mayor on Nov. 4. Ken Anderson Simi Valley
Why reelect Paul Miller for mayor of Simi Valley? Because he has shown for the past four years that he is not only dedicated but also very effective. There is no reason to fix what is not broken.
However, I have an even better reason to reelect Paul Miller—because he is an honest politician.
Some people may consider that phrase an oxymoron, but he proved it to me when he turned down a contribution to his campaign a couple of years ago. At the time he was running unopposed for his second term for mayor and, because he did not have to run a campaign, felt that the contribution could be better used by someone who actually had to run a campaign.
Everyone I shared that story with was absolutely in awe that any politician running for any position would turn down a contribution.
That, in my opinion, is an honest politician. Please remember that when you go to the polls on Nov. 4 and vote for Paul Miller for mayor of Simi Valley. Marion Erbe Simi Valley
