Inspector Alan Perry of the Ventura County Fire Department will offer a presentation on fire and fall prevention at 1 p.m. Mon., Sept. 22 at the Simi Valley Senior Center, 2900 Avenida Simi.

Perry will discuss lifesaving tips for the home to reduce the risk of falls and fire hazards.

People over the age of 65 are twice as likely to die in home fires than the general population, and falls are the leading cause of death for older adults.
