Nonprofits: City accepting project requests for HUD money
The city of Simi Valley is requesting project submissions for the Community Development Block Grant program. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development made funds available each year for the grant program.
The city solicits projects from nonprofit organizations that provide direct benefit to primarily low and moderate-income residents of Simi Valley.
Nonprofit groups that wish to apply for these funds must attend a mandatory workshop from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tues., Sept. 23 in the community room in City Hall, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road, Simi Valley.
The workshop will cover the application material, reimbursement request submittals and reporting requirements.
Applicants who do not attend the workshop will not qualify for funding.
The city will be accepting applications by appointment only from Sept. 24 through Oct. 8.
To register, call Lisa Gotham at (805) 583-6836.
