Kadota-Fig resident in support of zone change
I was shocked to read a letter in the Aug. 15 Simi Valley Acorn where an author arrogantly attacks the character of those with a different view than his own. I have owned property in the Kadota-Fig tract for more than 20 years and support a zone change.
This area has long been considered for rezoning. However, the author claims he bought the property because of its "rurally zoned neighborhood."
I don't think this zoning exists in Simi Valley. The current zoning is "residential very low." I think it should be rezoned to higherdensity residential zoning, which will help the city meet its obligations.
Claiming that the City Council will take away the use of their land is false. A grandfather clause will protect everyone's use of their property.
The truth is that the author's self-righteous views represent those who seek to control other people's property without compensating them. How arrogant and selfish.
Furthermore, demonizing the council for considering various options is childish and ignorant. They are doing their duty and must meet the needs of the city and all residents.
Again, I support a zone change to higher density for the KadotaFig tract. Tomas Palacios Simi Valley
