A grand opening gala will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Wed., Sept. 3 at the new Nordstrom at The Oaks mall, 222 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

The event will include preopening shopping, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, a fashion presentation and live music by swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

Tickets are $100 and include complimentary valet parking. All proceeds will benefit the Alliance for the Arts and the Centennial Guild of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.

Cocktail attire is requested.

The store will open to the public at 10 a.m. Fri., Sept. 5.
