A longstanding tradition at the Acorn newspapers returns next month, and your participation is invited.

The deadline for submissions to the "Take Your Acorn on Vacation" photo contest is now Thurs., Sept. 4. The winners will be announced Fri., Sept. 19.

Please send a high-resolution digital photo with your name, address, phone number and complete caption information to vacation@theacorn.com or mail a 35mm print to Acorn on Vacation, using the address on page 4.

The winner receives a $100 prize, second place earns $50 and third place $25.
