Women's Economic Ventures will hold free one-hour training orientations for their 14-week self-employment training classes.

Attendees will learn how to start or expand their own businesses and about various services available through the organization.

•From 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays Aug. 11, 18 and 25 at Goebel Senior Center, 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks

•From 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays Aug. 13, 20 and 27 at Azusa Pacific University, 445 E. Esplanade Drive, Ste. 200, Oxnard

•From 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays Aug. 13, 20 and 27 in Ventura; location to be announced.
